What - or who - is buried in Susannah's backyard?

When the nineteenth-century ghost of Maria de Silva wakes her up in the middle of the night, Suze knows this is no ordinary visitation - and not just from the knife at her throat, either. In life, Maria was the fiancée of Jesse - the same Jesse who was murdered a hundred and fifty years before. The same Jesse Suze is in love with.

Maria threatens Suze: The backyard construction must cease. Suze has a pretty good idea what - or rather, who - Maria doesn't want found. But in solving Jesse's murder, will Suze end up losing him forever?
Review:
Another great addition to the Mediator Series! I knew that eventually things with Jesse were going to evolve and I am so happy that this entire book is basically about Suze and Jesse. For so long this relationship has been building up and it is finally time for Suze to start realizing it.

Suze has been trying to solve the mystery of Jesse's death since she found him in her room. When she is assaulted and threatened by Jesse's ex-fiance, Maria, Suze finally decides it's time to get to the bottom of things. The only problem is that if she solves his murder, does it mean he no longer has a reason to stick around? You'll have to find that out for yourself, because I'm not spoiling anything. I would definitely say that this one is towards the top of my list for favorite books in the series, it might even be my favorite, but I feel like book five will probably take that spot. So, for now this is my favorite book in the series, besides book one.

I love how much Suze goes behind everyone's back in this book. She is taking a lot of risks, but this time is all for the good of Jesse. She is finally starting to put words and thoughts to her feelings for Jesse and she is doing all she can to make sure he doesn't find out. I love the chase of realizing you have feelings for someone and trying to hide it. It's so adorable and thrilling.

It's been a little while since I read the first three book in this series, but I feel like this one had the most violence. Sure, Suze always gets herself into some hairy situations, but I felt like the violence on both Suze and the ghost's side were pretty intense. I have absolutely no problem with violence so, it was awesome, but I was still a little shocked to read it. I guess when it comes to love you endure anything.

Overall:
I absolutely loved this addition to the series. Right now it is my favorite book in the series, but I think book five will take that spot when I read it. I love that it focused on Suze and Jesse, and that she is finally realizing what he means to her. There was a lot of violence in this installment, but I thought it was awesome. I cannot wait to find out what happens in book five! I hope you all have read this series, or are at least beginning to.
