Have you ever had required reading for school? Those sometimes boring and painful books to read? Where you would rather watch the movie than read the book?
If you could create your own required reading list, what books would you put on it? Lord of the Rings, instead of Lord of the Flies?

I don't think i can come up with as cool of an idea as Lord of the Rings instead of Flies, but here is my list of things i would have put on there =D
- Catcher in the Rye By J.D. Salinger
- Speak By Laurie Anderson
- Go Ask Alice By Anonymous (even though i was required this in middle school idk if they are anymore more)
- The Outsiders By S.E. Hinton (Again it was required for me, but you should still read it)
- Beastly By Alex Flinn
- Twilight By Stephenie Meyer (idk, this is a maybe, but it did cause social change)
- Harry Potter By J.K. Rowling (Even though i have never read them, SORRY, i still think they are good for kids to read. I'll get to them i promise)
- Viola in Reel Life By Adriana Trigiani
- Generation Dead By Daniel Waters (AMAZING series, and it teaches you about segregation in a different situation)
- Along for the Ride By Sarah Dessen (or any Sarah Dessen books, because they all are amazing and teach you something)
