Review:
Apparition is a very good story about a girl named Jade who ends up having a ghost haunt her room, but ends up being best friends with him. It was kind of your typical hot male ghost haunting a girls room, feelings start to form, what happens now? book, but I did really like it. There were some things that I didn't like, but overall I really enjoyed the reading experience and will definitely continue on with the series.
The number one thing that I did like was the characters that Dylan created. I think they were all very well formed and each had their own personality. There was no confusion about who was talking if they didn't mention the name every time they spoke. You could tell who it was by the way they spoke. I also really liked how Jade came to discover Sean's existence. There was a lot I did like about this story, but I just don't seem to have words for it. I think this novel would have been a solid 4 stars if the almost ending was different. I liked everything until about chapter seventeen, thats when things turned grave (pun intended) for me.
The way things end with Derek is a little rough. I don't want to give anything away so I don't want to say much, but I just felt like what happened should have played a bigger impact then it did. I realize that book ends the morning after is happens, but I just felt like more should have happened pertaining to that event. I also wish there were more bad things against Derek. The whole time Sean makes Derek out to be this horrible guy and yes, what he did was horrible, but not as bad as what I thought was going to end up happening. I also wished that there was more about Sean. The whole focus on Sean was only what was happening while he was with Jade, or someone she knew, I just wish we knew more about Sean in book one especially because of how the book ends. I realize Dylan might have made it that way so you could find out who the "real" Sean is in book two, but still I wanted more now. Lastly, I just felt like something was missing in the end. Like something bigger should have happened. I think the story really needed a big cliffhanger to really bring everything together, because the whole story was a little mellow, almost, so I think a cliffhanger would have worked veyr nicely.
Overall:
I did really enjoy the reading experience of this novel, but I just wished the ending would have been packed with a bigger punch. I think a really huge cliffhanger would have worked much nicer. I did enjoy the novel, and I will continue on with the series, but I just felt like something was missing in the end. I also wish that more about Sean would have been told in book one instead of making us wait till book, or that more hints were dropped through out the story about sean in reference to what Jade learns in the end. Overall it was a good story and I am glad that I read it, because I love ghost stories. I recommend this to those who also love a good ghost romance.
